Words of Encouragement

Big thanks to Dot who did the Affirmation Cards =)

Dot - "We'll be spending the next couple of weeks writing in the cards. Remember, this isn't a Christmas card type thing. If you have nothing substantial to write in someone's card, don't stress! It's okay if you don't write in everyone's card. I doubt there's enough space for everyone to write a lengthy message for everyone anyway. Don't forget there's also space on the back of the card should you run out of space."

I'm all for lengthy messages, especially people we don't really know or talk to
^^ I have a feeling that there will be cards with nothing in them, but we'll see.
Yes please don't write comments like "Your Cool" or just leave your signature
encourage one another, by thanking them for who they are =)

Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,

Also we have 55 cards made, apologises to people such as DC or the Andrew (who works in reserves) or anyone else we've missed out on.

All the cards are named btw =) glad that bit is over,
Next is decorating the front covers, so need volunteers to decorate over holidays
& Thirdly is just getting people to write !

Thanks for those who have already started writing in them =)

Saturday 13.11

It's a nice day,
nice day for a breakfast too =)
& there's heaps of people over at Dobinsons cafe in Civic
people enjoying their conversations, able to spend a bit of money on some delicious meals, like focaccias sandwiches, delicious tarts and great meat pies. Yum =)

a few shops away there's ANZ bank, & outside there's a trolley.
There's a man sitting in front of the trolley, he's got a few bags in the trolley (cloths I'm guessing) & a blanket &(looks to be) food supplies.. He's sitting there homeless holding up a sign. He looks helpless

& I see a man walking past him with a trolley filled with his shopping..
as he walks past he notices the man sitting down with a homeless sign,
he glances for a second & says "Go get a Job mate!" snorts and walks off..

I glanced at his face, I could feel the sadness in his eyes

He doesn't look like he's showered in a few days either..
I just had a shower too, & feels like an undeserved blessing.

http://hope2others.blogspot.com/

Check out this Blog =)

Imagine this;
If you had lost everything what would happen ?
Being a bum isn't that great is it..

What sort of items would you need to survive on the streets...

Toothbrush,toopaste
hand wipes
kleenex tissues,
snacks, fruit
bottle of water,
bar of soap

What about Canberra, how can we meet the needs for the homeless ?

Imagine 2 teenage girls aged 14 & 11.. & they were regugees & they received Operation Christmas Child shoe box.. how awesome it is to have something from nothing,
then to wake up in reality & have everything they ever wanted in Australia or US..
having a family that loves them, having a Church to go to, having school & clean water having money.. but then to see people on the streets, in their own hometowns or cities.. seeing people wonder the streets without many belongings..

What if we could raise money like 40hour Famine for the poor in Canberra
What if the items above are the needs, homeless people in Canberra, that people always wanted but don't have the money..
if these things cost only $5 dollars perhaps we could have a small little bag of necessities that they could have & perhaps a Christian Track.. & the Gospel Message
added to it.

I know it's an imagination, I know it's not reality, but perhaps we could make it reality.
I'm also unsure because Australia has one of the best government funding i.e Centrelink.. One day I hope to meet someone on the street & ask about his needs
perhaps a small effort could go a long way =)
